thegabbster asked for a Phoebe/Coop, pregnant or baby fic
It's not exactly that! It's fluff with the notion of a family, since Phoebe and Coop have a baby girl! Phoebe POV
Author's Notes:I wrote it at 3am last night, so it is probably too dull and sappy! sorry! ;)
Like A Dream
She sat up on the bed and rested her back against the headboard. Breathing softly she looked over to her left side where her husband was asleep, his chest rising and falling with each he took.
His muscular arm still protectively over her abdomen, Phoebe Halliwell removed it and pushed it to his side.
It’s been over a year that they’ve been together and Phoebe had no regrets.
Coop had proven to be a great person and a great husband. She smiled despite herself when she remembered how they had met. The Elders had sent him to help her find her true love, because after all the sacrifices she had endured.
She really deserved it. Little did she know back then that her one true love would be “Love/Cupid” himself.
It hadn’t been easy. She actually had deliberately made it difficult for him. After Cole and Jason, but especially Cole she wasn’t sure she believed in love anymore, but she kept giving half-hearted chances.
She didn’t know if she welcomed it. She thought Cole was her true love but he had manipulated her, breaking her heart into pieces and shattering her world.
So, would a new “true love”, be as heartbreaking?
Phoebe had had a lot of heartbreak in her life and she didn’t know if she could take anymore.
But looking at Coop’s serene face now, put a smile on her face. Real love must do that, right?
Real love must put a smile on your face and your mind at rest, right? If that was the case, Phoebe Halliwell had no doubt that it was the real thing and could do nothing other than smile as tears of joy brimmed in her eyes.
Coop had made everything look easy. Having a family, balancing magic with their personal life…
At first, she was afraid that nothing could work. That doing magic and helping others out would be something that would take up all of their time. But it didn’t.
She found she could always find time to tell him how much she loved him, intertwining her fingers with his and looking deep into his eyes.
And he would always find the time to hold her, just put his arms around her, making her feel safe, warm and protected whispering words of love and devotion to her.
And then her pregnancy came to complete their happiness. She had no expected it. For years she dreamed of creating a family of her own, having a baby.
A perfect son or daughter to make her feel “full”. Coop was so excited. He had always dreamed of having a family of his own too, his desire intensified with every couple he brought together, every love her incited or revived.
Her pregnancy hadn’t been easy. Phoebe was moody to begin with, the pregnancy just made her mood swings more frequent and intense. It almost literally drove Coop insane.
But he was there, by her side, even when she complained and nagged for nothing really.
Even when she wanted some food that was only present in a country hundreds of miles away. It was a good thing Coop could move from place to place at the blink of an eye. Otherwise, it would never had worked.
Phoebe giggles as she remembered what she had asked of him on a terrible, rainy night.
Papayas were scarce but he got up and immediately “flew” away to get her some. When he got back five minutes later, he was soaking wet but he had returned with papayas in is hands and his eyes sparkling with love.
And when the labor came he chose to be inside the room with her, holding her hand, helping her with her breathing and brushing her damp hair away from her face. Phoebe had never been able to withstand pain gracefully.
So, she had screamed and cursed and yelled, squeezing his hand tighter and tighter but he wouldn’t let go. He stayed by her side.
He told her he wanted to witness that miracle and that he absolutely wished to be the first person along with her and the person, to see their baby once he or she was born.
Their baby girl came into the world on November 15, 2009 and made them both turn into mush.
It really did enhance their happiness and even though Phoebe knew how dangerous the world could be and how risky it was to dabble with magic and have a family- Piper was the first to do that- she eventually realized that love had made everything possible.
She couldn’t deny herself the opportunity to be happy for fear that her baby could die.
Coop led her to realize that they all could die any moment. You had no control over it, none of it was your choice.
What you would do with every moment, though, with how much happiness you fill it was your choice, one that could never be taken from you!
Phoebe Halliwell had tasted happiness from the very first second they bound their lives together and despite her fears and sacrifices, looking over to her daughter, peacefully asleep in her crib, had made everything worthwhile.
Carefully and slowly, she slid back into her place lying on the bed again and she snuggled closer to Coop, taking his arm and placing it over her abdomen, just the way he liked it.
Still asleep, he pulled closer to him, so that his breath brushed against the back of her neck.
She locked her fingers with his and fell asleep too, knowing without doubt that this was a dream she would never wake up from!
