Weight Loss Tips?

Hi my lovelies!
I don't know how many of you are comfortable with their bodies and how they look and how many of you obsess about their weight and stuff!
I used to be very thin... and I mean really thin, but now I have gained like 7 kgs- thats like 14 pounds in two and a half years.
This may not sound like a lot, but given the fact that I'm only 5ft 3 inches...it kinda shows.
Most importantly, I just feel out of shape, you know?
Summer is coming and it will be quite ruthless- I can feel it, so I'm trying to cut down on everything and lose some weight. I'm gonna start going to the gym again too.
My problem is not lack of exercise but excess food. I totally caved and bought chocolate sweets yesterday...
My fridge is stuffed with sweets dammit...
So tell me, how do you do it?

How do you lose weight when you have to?
What little tricks do you use? (i.e.: like throwing away all temptations or eating more slowly and more meals, drinking lots of water etc...)
