Medieval Or Something Like It - A Adam/Claire Fiction

There she was before his eyes, her cheeks more flushed than ever, her blonde hair tied up in a ponytail and her curvy little body in the most sensuous, red dress he had ever seen.

From her cheek, to her lips, to her dress all he could see was red and excitement was getting the better of him.

She was a perfect little marvel and she was all his.

He smiled sheepishly and he only realized she had been talking to him again the minute she started shooting him her angry looks.

With those pretty, puppy eyes of hers there wasn’t much she could do to make them appear angry or threatening, but Adam knew one of these days Claire would find a way.

She was, after all, a woman.

“What was that, Claire-bear?” he asked hoping that the little nickname would distract her and let him get off easily.

Boy was he wrong!

”You said what to my father? Are you fucking crazy?” she yelled.

He blinked emotionlessly. What could she mean?
“What is the problem? I don’t understand!” He stated.

He watched as fumes escaped her ears- well not actually but he could mentally visualize it.

“You don’t understand! He doesn’t understand!” she repeated his words as If addressing an audience or even worse a jury. Was he already on trial? And if he were, wouldn’t she at least tell him? But then again…Women…

He'd known many women over the long years, gotten under their skin and manipulated the best of them; but he couldn't, for the life of him, figure out this little blonde cheerleader.

‘Ok, let me make this clear to you. You just can’t go to my father to ask for permission for us to get away for the weekend and tell him that we just need some time alone to do the nasty or elope. You just can’t!”

“But that’s not what I told him, it’s not! It really isn’t!”

“Well you might as well have told him that!” she exclaimed.

“Ok, let me tell you exactly what happened!”
“I came here, to Nathan’s house and your uncle opened the door!”

“Peter?”

“Yeah, he was polite and everything, even though he didn’t bloody know me. So I asked for Nathan and he was already coming to the door. So I greeted him and gave him the flowers!”

“What flowers? Oh, Adam please tell me you didn’t bring any flowers! Oh my God, that is so medieval!”

“Well, what’s wrong with medieval? You didn’t seem to take offence last night and besides this is what you get for dating a 400-year-old man!”

She gave a half smile. “Right! I should have seen this one coming! So then what?”

“Well, Peter took the flowers and then we both sat down and Nathan asked me what I wanted. Pretty straightforward – I like that in a man!” Adam winked.

“Well, he is my biological parent and he likes to act like it when Noah is out of town!”

He ignored her comment and went on. “So, I told him that I wanted to go away with his daughter and that’s when he punched me – before having a chance to let him know that I meant it only for the weekend! ”

“Haha! So that was when he punched you?”

“Yeah, he punched me twice. But thankfully, Peter was there to stop him. The only thing that bothered me was that he couldn’t stop laughing!”

“Hehe, that’s a lot like Peter. So what happened next?”

“Well, I told him he misunderstood me. I didn’t mean that we were going to elope or anything – though it seems like a good idea now- but that I meant we were going away for the weekend.

That seemed to relax him a bit. But he did ask me where I had been hiding all this time and why he hadn’t heard of me before.”

“Oh my God! So you totally gave me away, didn’t you? What did you tell him?” she shouted.

“I told him we have been sneaking going out for 5 months now and that we are in love!”

“Let me guess! That was when he suffered his first stroke? His teenage daughter with a 30-year-old man? Thank God you didn’t tell him your real age.”

“But I did!”

“You did? Why on earth would you do that?”

“I just like to be honest!”

“Really? Since when? You didn’t tell me who you were or your real age for the whole first month we were going out!”

“That was different, it was for safety reasons!” he protested.

“Believe me! Not telling my dad the truth really promotes safety, yours as well as mine!!” she answered.
